Customer Reviews: David Clark H10-13X ANR aviation headset

This review is from: David Clark H10-13X ANR aviation headset (Electronics) I have to start with a little history. I own a Bose Aviation X headset (predecessor to the A20) and that works quite wonderfully in a Dash-8 with cutting down the engine noise from the turbo props. They are really comfortable to wear and don’t squeeze your head so you can wear them with glasses and shades for long periods without getting a headache.

Now when I took my year old Bose headset into an old Twin Otter, the noise cancelling worked fined for the engine noise, but didn’t seem to work at all on the wind noise. Now because the headsets don’t squeeze your head and are so comfortable, the passive noise cancelling from the seal around your ears isn’t as good as a normal headset, but the active noise cancelling more than makes up for that.

Unfortunately, for some reason, the active noise cancelling doesn’t seem to work well at all with regards to the wind noise, I’m not sure why.

So, on to the David Clarke’s. These fit exactly like the old school DC’s that pretty much lock out as much sound as you can without anything turned on (and squeeze you head). The passive seal is really excellent, just like a normal David Clarke. The active noise cancelling is not on the same level of the Bose. What David Clarke does do better is block out the wind noise which was really loud. Unfortunately, the engine noise is higher than with the Bose.

When you put all the noise together, the DC’s do work better overall (for my scenario) for noise cancelling, but if I am in another plane other than the DHC-6 I would definitely go back to the Bose, as without my wind noise issue it is superior.

I’m very happy with my purchase of this headset, but I feel that for most people, the Aviation X or A20 would be a better buy.

Also, I must note that the warranty for David Clarke’s are stellar, as is the customer service. They will service your headset for a lifetime no problem.

Of course the prices are different as well, but if you have the extra money, and don’t think you will have a wind noise issue I would go with the Bose.

Customer Reviews: Motorola T325 Wireless Bluetooth Car Speaker Portable Vehicle Visor Mount with Auto Pairing For All Cell Phones and Smartphones- BLACK- Non-Retail Packaging.

This review is from: Motorola T325 Wireless Bluetooth Car Speaker Portable Vehicle Visor Mount with Auto Pairing For All Cell Phones and Smartphones- BLACK- Non-Retail Packaging. (Wireless Phone Accessory) Do not waste your money on this. I purchased this because in theory it sounds good.
I have tried relocating it. But still no luck in getting a good solid conversation.
At most, I might get 7 solid words, but mostly broken up conversation.
After several attempts, I have given up.
If I leave the phone in the case on my hip, the speaker cuts in and out.
The phone is only 2′ away. People cannot understand me and I cannot understand them.
It is barely usable. If I put the phone in the holder attached to the windshield, it does work better.
But the volumme is weak, even with the volumme control turned all the way up.
I have to strain to hear.
I have used this with the LG Revolution and the enV3.
Also, it doesn’t work with the Navigation. Only phone calls.
I wished I knew that before I bought it, I wouldn’t have.

Customer Reviews: Focal PS 165 6.5″ 2-Way Component Speakers

The Focal ps 165 are very nice components. Get them, you will love them. Period. Tweeters are detailed and not too bright. Woofers give great midrange presence and they blend very well together. A focal rep stated that you wouldn’t find a better set under 600.00 dollars. I tend to agree!

Customer Reviews: INSTEN Black All-in-One Windshield FM Transmitter w/ 3.5-mm Audio Cable, Compatible With Apple® iPhone® 4 / 4S

This review is from: INSTEN Black All-in-One Windshield FM Transmitter w/ 3.5-mm Audio Cable, Compatible With Apple® iPhone® 4 / 4S (Wireless Phone Accessory) I was looking around for the perfect product for my needs and THIS was it. Nervous about the purchase, for there was only one review, it took me a few days of nosing around to finally decide to make the jump.

The FM transmitter works without flaw and allows you to choose the station (past products of mine have not). My iPhone 4 fits perfectly in the compartment which is adjustable for other styles or sized iPhones or mp3 players. There is a USB plug on the right side of the device which is convenient for not only charging my phone, but other electronics I have.

I originally had difficulty keeping the suction cup attached to the window, but a little water and (so far) I’ve gone 2 days without it falling down. This is my favorite feature because it keeps it out of the way of my air control and my stick shift.

I highly recommend this product, it’s price and it’s performance are hard to beat.

Customer Reviews: SA-12 D4 – Sundown Audio 12″ 600W Dual 4-Ohm SA Series Subwoofer

This review is from: SA-12 D4 – Sundown Audio 12″ 600W Dual 4-Ohm SA Series Subwoofer (Electronics) I’m pushing this with a mono Audiopipe 1200 w with 1/0 wire and woaaahhh this hits. I made my box with MDF tuned to the sub and this box almost jumps on the lows. The lows are the best part about this sub hands down and Im driving a BMW 323i 2000 and my seats don’t even pull down. Crazy sound and people think I have 2 12′s running. Get it.

Customer Reviews: Absolute KSB12S 12″ Single Square Hole Subwoofer Enclosure for use with Kicker Solo-Baric Subwoofer

This review is from: Absolute KSB12S 12″ Single Square Hole Subwoofer Enclosure for use with Kicker Solo-Baric Subwoofer (Electronics) The box isn’t as the picture depicts it. The box is actually just a square box and is not angled on the front. This though does not make that big of a difference. I was disappointed because I couldn’t track it in the shipping and because when it finally did ship to me every singled corner of the box was damaged. The damage was just the carpet rubbing off and not the integrity of the box so I chose not to send it back. Once I had the box installed the sound was great. installation was simple and the terminals on this box are excellent. I give it a 4 out of 5 stars because of the shipping and the damage. The product itself though, is incredible.

Customer Reviews: Pyle PLBW104 10-Inch 1000 Watt DVC Subwoofer

This review is from: Pyle PLBW104 10-Inch 1000 Watt DVC Subwoofer (Electronics) When I purchased this sub woofer I didn’t expect to hear a lot of punching bass, but I was wrong. This sub can push out a lot of bass, not as much as my Rockfords, but enough to rattle the glass of my Chevy Suburban. For the money you cannot go wrong with this sub!

Customer Reviews: Lexerd – Garmin Nuvi 2460 2450 LMT LT LM TrueVue Anti-Glare GPS Screen Protector (Dual Pack Bundle)

This review is from: Lexerd – Garmin Nuvi 2460 2450 LMT LT LM TrueVue Anti-Glare GPS Screen Protector (Dual Pack Bundle) (Electronics) It took me about 3 tries and 5 minutes to put this on my Garmin 2460. Just install it under bright light. Looks INVISIBLE, does not hold any fingerprints and apperars like it should last a long time. Once properly in place, you don’t know it’s there.

Customer Reviews: DB Link MANLFH1 Mini ANL Fuse Holder

This review is from: DB Link MANLFH1 Mini ANL Fuse Holder (Electronics) Initial impressions is good quality for the price. I am using this with 4 gauge wire upgrading my car’s alternator + line to the battery, this is holding a 150amp fuse, and appears to be working just fine. It holds the wires in place snugly and forms a pretty solid weather proof seal.

Customer Reviews: Ppyple dashview car mount, FM Transmitter, car charger, handsfree for iPhone 4S, 4, 3GS (Certified “Made for iPhone”)

This review is from: Ppyple dashview car mount, FM Transmitter, car charger, handsfree for iPhone 4S, 4, 3GS (Certified “Made for iPhone”) (Wireless Phone Accessory) This device works pretty well with a few caveats. First of all, the overall feel of it is sort of “cheap” — thin plastic, etc. However, after using it for about three weeks, I haven’t had anything break, so I have to assume that they went with flexibility instead of rock solidity for robustness. The second item is that sometimes the connector for the iPhone doesn’t seat easily. I think this is because of the universal clip they use for compatibility with various types of iPhone/iPod. Still, it’s just a minor annoyance. The only real complaint I have is that instead of pulling the audio from the iPhone connector they make you use the audio jack for plugging in a jumper cable. This seems more than a bit silly to me to begin with, compounded by the fact that this 6″ cable is quite possibly the worst cable I have ever seen. Almost every time I plug it in I have to twist one end or the other in the jack to get rid of a strong static hum on the line.

That said, it does the job, the FM transmitter works pretty well once I found an empty channel, which was actually quite a task in a larger urban area.

Overall, I give it four stars because it does what it’s supposed to, although the audio cable is really pretty shoddy, and I have to say that they hide the fact it needs one in all their pictures.

Customer Reviews: XTC 6″x9″ Foam Baffle Pair

This review is from: XTC 6″x9″ Foam Baffle Pair (Electronics) I installed these baffles behind the kick panel speakers in my 1965 Mustang. They are outstanding. I was worried that there would not be enough room, but they were easily installed and improved the sound from my radio tremendously.

Customer Reviews: RAM Mounting Systems RAM-B-149-GA40U Ram Mount U-Bolt Rail Mount for the Garmin GPSMAP 78, 78S & 78SC

This review is from: RAM Mounting Systems RAM-B-149-GA40U Ram Mount U-Bolt Rail Mount for the Garmin GPSMAP 78, 78S & 78SC (Electronics) It’s as advertised. Only problem I had is that the U bolt didn’t fit around the railing of my Hobie Pro Angler handle so I don’t think the opening is as big as it says. I just went to Lowes and purchased a U bolt that fit so besides that, it’s worked great.

Customer Reviews: JL AUDIO EVOLUTION C2-600X

This review is from: JL AUDIO EVOLUTION C2-600X (Electronics) Just installed these speakers paired with an Alpine IDA-x305s and Alpine Power Pack in my boat yesterday. I first tested them without the power pack and they sounded good. Much better than the factory speaks. I then installed the power pack and was very impressed. Push them pretty hard for their first use and there was no distortion at all. Would give them 5 stars if the bass hit harder but they do quite well for 6 inches. No complaints…

Customer Reviews: Scosche GMOS2B11 OnStar Interface for Class II with Bose Vehicles

This review is from: Scosche GMOS2B11 OnStar Interface for Class II with Bose Vehicles (Electronics) This product was recommended by Scosche technicians for my 2005 Corvette with a newly installed Pioneer AVIC F700BT unit since their standard GM09 unit kept shutting the unit off in hot weather. This unit, after installed, would not provide sound to the speakers, even after working with the Scosche technicians.

Customer Reviews: Techno Earth® Suction Cup Mount + Bracket for Garmin Nuvi 1300LM

This review is from: Techno Earth® Suction Cup Mount + Bracket for Garmin Nuvi 1300LM (Electronics) Like an idiot, I left the original suction cup mount that came with my GPS in a rental car and had to buy this one. I was happy to find one so reasonably priced. It’s a bit stiffer than the original one, and the plastic covering the suction part was extraordinarily hard to get off but it does the job I wanted it to do.

Customer Reviews: Ultra Slim Zinc Metal Chrome License Plate Camera

This review is from: Ultra Slim Zinc Metal Chrome License Plate Camera (Electronics) I am always concerned about blind spots behind a car or truck. Some time ago I bought a truck with a backup camera installed and I really liked that feature. I also have a Cadillac STS that has a fairly high trunk creating a blind spot. Searched the internet and read reviews of backup cameras, then settled on this one. The frame is sturdy and nice looking, the cable is just the right length to route through the car to a dash mounted nuvi 5000 GPS which has a video input.
Installation was straight forward. Since I wanted to use the bottom holes on the frame, I had to drill these two holes since the STS has only the top two screws for the frame. Routing the cable was pretty simple since the trunk is fully carpeted. Only had to fold some of the carpet back to route the cable. Exiting the trunk to the cabin was easy since I followed existing wiring on the right side which exits low under the back seats and disappears under the floor flash under the doors. Just slipped the wire under the flash and followed forward to the dash. Spliced into the cable for power and ground at the rear connector and wired it to the backup light. This means the camera turns on only when the backup light is on. The nuvi 5000 has a large display and the backup camera shows a detailed picture in full color. The nuvi 5000 switches automatically to video when the camera turns on and back to street map when the camera turns off. Did a little adjustment to the camera, rotate down further to see the ground right below the rear bumper. Still shows full area display though. Very satisfied with the product.

Customer Reviews: Zumo 660 Europe

Excelent. I can’t have ordered a better GPS. Perfect for my motorcycle. Easy to install and operate. Very resistant and also useful in the car

Customer Reviews: Scosche HY1612B 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe DIN/ISO and Double DIN Kit

This kit was good, not perfect. The instructions on how to disassemble the dash were VERY over – simplified. A few pictures and more information would be helpful. The plastic that surronds the stereo should be silver to match the car’s aluminum piece that surronds it. But it matched the stereo, so that’s not too bad.

Customer Reviews: PYLE PLMR51W 100 Watts 5.25-Inch 2 Way White Marine Speakers

i bought a marine pyle power amp with an mp3 port, the amps 100 watt and work well with the speakers.

I’m using them without a stereo powered by the amp only and without an EQ.

There’s nothing wrong with the volume or quality of sound.

Customer Reviews: Garmin eTrex Holster

This review is from: Garmin eTrex Holster (Electronics) I have used this holster for my Garmin Vista C for over two years now and this is an excellent solution, particularly for hiking. The unit fits snugly into the case and the flap protects it from damage on the trail. Yet when you need to look at the unit, it’s quick and easy to pull out with one hand. It’s also a comfortable way to carry the unit in a backpack, car glovebox, etc. The case has solid sides so the unit is well-protected, even if it gets knocked about a bit. You don’t have to worry about it getting dinged up while in this holster.

I have no idea what the previous reviewer is talking in saying this case doesn’t fit Cx models because this holster absolutely DOES fit the eTrex Vista HCx. I recently ordered the Vista HCx and, because I was so happy with this case with my older Vista C, I ordered another one. Later, I saw that review and was quite worried about it. But it had shipped so there was nothing to be done but to wait for it and see what happened.

I received the HCx and holster from Amazon today and the Vista HCx slid into the holster exactly like my older Vista C did. Sure the fit is tight. It’s supposed to be. And yes, you have to give it a good tug to get it out, but that’s just because the sides and back of the Vista are made of rubber so it grabs onto the material of the holster. Folks, that’s a good thing (unless you like the idea of watching your expensive GPSr falling out and bouncing over the side of a cliff)!

I can also tell you from my experience with the older one that the holster and eTrex adapt to each other and they go from tight to nicely snug very quickly. Yet the case never lets the GPSr actually get loose so you never have to worry about the eTrex slipping out.

Anyway, take it from someone who has used it for a couple of years now. There is no better way to carry your eTrex (new or old) than this. Now if Garmin would just make one of these for my GPSMAP 60CSx, I’d be all set.

Customer Reviews: Blitzsafe Audi M-Link1 V.1B iPod Adapter

This review is from: Blitzsafe Audi M-Link1 V.1B iPod Adapter (Electronics) Installed in a 2007 Audi A3. Removed the factory radio snapped in the adaptor and instant ipod glory. Much better than Fm transmitters. Installation is a straight forward task that many can do themselves.
Don’t forget to order the Metra keys for Audi car stereos so you can remove yours.

Customer Reviews: Boss CAP35 Farad Digital Hybrid Capacitor with Blue Illumination

This review is from: Boss CAP35 Farad Digital Hybrid Capacitor with Blue Illumination (Electronics) The following was sent by me to the Boss Audio company about their CAP-35 product:

I just purchased your CAP35 from Amazon.com. S/N 10044600198. Upon receipt, I decided to check the capacitor on the bench before actually installing in a vehicle. I am baffled by the results when charging the capacitor. With the included 50 ohm resistor it only took a few minutes to get to the supply’s 12v output. With a 35 Farad capacitor I expected the classic capacitor charge curve to hold true – T(sec)=C(35)xR(50) equaling 1750 seconds to get to 1TC of 7.584 volts – 29 MINUTES! It only took a couple minutes, telling me that I have only maybe a 3-5 Farad capacitor! Please explain. What is wrong? How do I really get 35 Farad?
Please explain!

Their lame response was simply “We have tested a couple of CAP35 and it does take a couple of minutes to fully charge.”.

This is NOT a true 35 Farad capacitor unit that would operate at the rated 16 volts, as per my above description. In my opinion the Car Audio Industry is a very dishonest industry in this regard. Buyer beware!

Customer Reviews: GLOCAM GC2 Mini GPS Driving Recorder | Car Black Box | 2 Channels

This camera has pretty good video quality.

GPS, G-Sensor, Speed, Google map, and Etc. are working fine.
When I tried to use a 8GB Class 2 or a Class 4 micro SD Card instead of the original 4GB Class 6 micro SD Card, I doesn’t work well.
I contacted the company, and they recommended Class 10. So I purchased the 8GB Class 10 micro SD Card. Now it works fine.

Overall, I’m happy with the camera.

Customer Reviews: Reed Switch and Magnet Assembly

This review is from: Reed Switch and Magnet Assembly (Electronics) These switches may seem like a bargain but they are garbage. They don’t list any specs for them so I don’t know what they are rated at. I tried using them to switch 0.064 amps at 12vdc and the contact started sticking right away.

They even give you a extra vent clip in case one breaks. Great value here.

This review is from: 2001-2005 Buick Century Keyless Entry Remote Fob Clicker With Free Do-It-Yourself Programming + Free Discount Keyless Guide It works, but I have to be within just a few feet for it to work at all. I’m going to try replacing the battery, even though I’ve tested it with a multi-meter and it checks out fine. I’m currently disappointed, but I will revise this review if anything changes.

Customer Reviews: Volfenhag Zx854r 5.25-Inch 350 Watt 2 Way Coaxial Car Speakers

These speakers especially for the price were a great buy. They perform well even at lower wattage/ low volume situations. Low frequency is sublime. mid frequency(vocals instrumentals) are clear and accurately represented. High frequency is the only range in which they fall short. That being said, this a typical symptom of coaxial speakers. The overall sound to me is a 8.5 out of a possible 10. If they were tri-axial the ultra highs such as cymbals bells and flutes would be more pronounced. Over all I am very happy with the speakers. The German shows through even though they are assembled in China. they are built to last for years. Every single electronic component has at least four physical supports if not more. The vibration resistant frame means even under heavy loads they will not shake themselves apart. Two to three steps above front speakers in my Jeep. Would recommend you use at the very least a 50 watt channel receiver/ head unit tho achieve clarity and richness of sound. I have no idea what these other reviewers were talking about I like these “little speakers.”

Customer Reviews: Metra 82-7500 Speaker Adaptor Plates for Ford Mazda and Nissan 5-1/4 or 6-1/2 to Oversized 6-1/2 Inch Opening

This review is from: Metra 82-7500 Speaker Adaptor Plates for Ford Mazda and Nissan 5-1/4 or 6-1/2 to Oversized 6-1/2 Inch Opening (Electronics) While the product seems well constructed and usable in a different application, it was too small to work in the rear speaker locations of my 2007 Nissan Xterra. I bought them to adapt a set of Polk Audio db651s but they just won’t fit and cannot be modified to work. Amazon was, as always, excellent about the return.

Customer Reviews: GTMax White USB Flip Home Wall Travel AC Charger Power Adapter for Apple iPod Nano 6th Generation

This review is from: GTMax White USB Flip Home Wall Travel AC Charger Power Adapter for Apple iPod Nano 6th Generation (Electronics) The adapter works fine and fits the cord provided with the Apple Nano perfectly. It is the only Apple compatible adapter that I could find where the prongs fold (Apple no longer sells a folding adapter off their website). It is compact when folded and great for travelling.

Customer Reviews: Monster Cable iCarPlay iPod Cassette Adapter (AI CAS-ADPT)

This review is from: Monster Cable iCarPlay iPod Cassette Adapter (AI CAS-ADPT) (Electronics) I purchased this item recently along with a Panasonic CD/MP3 player. If you’ve never heard of Monster, Ill tell you that monster is well known to audiophiles everywhere. The folks at monster are truely obsessed with making the highest possible quality cables, adapters and so on. Some would even say they go overboard. I’ve always gone to monster when I wanted the best video signal transfer or the best possible sound.

Because of Monster’s reputation in the audio industry I of course assumed that the more expensive Monster Cassette adapter would be of higher quality and produce better sound and less noise than the cheap one included with the panasonic player I bought. I was wrong. Very wrong. This adapter performed terribley in comparison to the cheap included one, producing horrible sound distortion. It didnt just do a poor job, it actually RUINED the sound. You should also note that the other adapter worked perfectly.

The details for this adapter fail to really say whether this item is made specifically for use with just the Ipod or whether it can be used as a general purpose cassete adapter that just happenes to have the Ipod branding and logo on it. I assumed it was just being marketed towards Ipod owners, but I wonder if it may somehow be technically tweaked, performance-wise, for use with the ipod? That doesnt seem likely as a minijack port is a minijack port and analog stereo sound coming out of a minijack on an ipod couldnt be any different than that coming from a sony discman or the back of a PC… it’s a standard audio output. But maybe Monster optimized certain frequencies based on thier knowledge of the MP3 codec and or the ipod to enhance sound output which caused my experience??? This doesn’t seem likely… and what’s more if it is the case it’s absurd… That’d be like RCA making an RCA adapter designed only to work with RCA VCRs even though the outputs and signals are compatible across the board. And besides, if it were the case, there shouldbe something sayin so dont you think?

No, I think this is just a poor product release. Monster should be ashamed. The signal to noise ratio and the frequency response specs arent even listed on this page OR on the package! (which I thought were requiered by FTC regulation) is missing.

Even if you’re an ipod owner, I would try this out before buying it. Otherwise save some money and buy a cheaper one from sony or panasonic… or any other brand for that matter.

Customer Reviews: PYLE PLHR78W 7-Inch Widescreen TFT Headrest Monitor in White

Pyle makes great monitors. What the PLHR79 and their other monitors gives the user in video quality for the size can’t be beat for the price.

I purchased two of the PLHR79 units through amazon.com because the description included the comment “AV Input.”

The unit has two Video Inputs, but NO AUDIO INPUT.

I imagine the PLHR79 would be great for a video only security camera input or for a back-up monitor for a Motor Coach or a Bus.

Craftsmanship is high as is all of the Pyle units I’ve seen. With my hobbies I’ve decided to keep the two PLHR79 units.

For my original needs I ended up purchasing two Haier HLT71 7-Inch Handheld LCD TV units with AV inputs. The added bonus is that the HLT71 is also a TV with an ATSC tuner. :)

Nothing bad to say about the Pyle monitor, it’s the listed specs that were incorrect.

Customer Reviews: Metra 70-1725 Amplifier Integration Harness for 2002 Acura RSX

This review is from: Metra 70-1725 Amplifier Integration Harness for 2002 Acura RSX (Electronics) I’ve used 5 of these so far between my car (2006 RSX type S with factory Bose) and cars I’ve installed them in. Build quality is fine.
If you’ve never installed a radio you should be able to do it with this no problem. Get some butt connectors and wire crimpers (or solder/shrink wrap) and match up the wires. Red to red, yellow to yellow, etc.. However, the orange wire on this harness needs to be connected to the orange/white wire on the stereo (for Pioneer at least). The other orange wire on the harness is not used, remove it or cap it.

The RCA male ends will plug into the pre-outs on the radio.
White RCA to left front speaker. Grey RCA to right front speaker. Green RCA left rear speaker. Black RCA to right rear speaker.

Customer Reviews: Belkin AV Cable for Apple iPod and iPhone (6 ft)

These items are totally compatible with all iPods with Video & Dock Connector; and all iPhones; and all iPads. They have no Firmware limitations. F8Z402 also includes a Rotary Charger, with DC 5V/1.0A Ouput Capacity and Folding Prongs.
To use item, you just need a TV/Monitor with RCA Stereo Audio Inputs (Red & White) and a RCA Video Composite Input (Yellow). You can also use it with a Stereo (for Audio) with RCA Stereo Audio Inputs (Red & White). And you must simply “Start” an Activity, there is no image displayed or Audio transmitted until you “Start” an activity, i.e., Start Slideshow, Play Audio, or Play Video.

Customer Reviews: Legacy LSW127 12-Inch 2000 Watt Legacy Steel Series Woofer

This review is from: Legacy LSW127 12-Inch 2000 Watt Legacy Steel Series Woofer (Electronics) with these subs i also bought a 4000 watt amp that was 2-channel with 2000 watts peak and 1000 watts rms per channel, when wired as 4-ohm, which is what the sub’s ratings are based on. therefore the amp and sub configuration were a perfect match, however approximately 1/2 an hour into driving with them i noticed a plastic/rubber burning smell and immediately shut off power to them. upon inspection both subs were blown and completely unusable. this leads to the conclusion that they were poorly rated and of poor quality materials, and i hereby advise that unless your going to run way under the limits, they are no good

This review is from: Great Buy! Power Acoustk KP-69 6″x9″ 3 way speakers, 360 watts, 25 oz magnet, Butyl Rubber Surround (Electronics) I stumbled across these while browsing on amazon and cause I was looking to replace my stock 6×9′s and i must say how impressed i was. First off everyone should keep in mind that I have a pioneer premier head unit pushing these and that I also have two 3.5 polk audio’s in my dash. I installed four of these (two in my front doors and two on the rear dash) in my car and instantly they were booming. Now keep in mind that these are 6×9′s and not 3 12 inch woofers. (Which I also have) Now the highs aren’t as crisp as I would like but with my 3.5′s in the dash, these are more than sufficient. When I had my friends listen to them, they thought that I had a 10 in the trunk! I definately recommend these speakers for the price. You cannot go wrong as long as you have the right set up.

Customer Reviews: Go Power! ARM-UNI Tilt Mount Kit

This review is from: Go Power! ARM-UNI Tilt Mount Kit (Automotive) Go Power! ARM-UNI Tilt Mount Kit

We purchased two sets for our two 125-watt solar panels atop our RV. Our criteria were, (1) easy to install; (2) easy to operate from a ladder at the RV’s side. These Go Power ARM-UNI Tilt mount kits looked fine and met both criteria perfectly. The aluminum parts are smoothly finished and accurately drilled. All mounting bolts, nuts, washers are stainless steel. The kits also include a set of well-nuts for mounting through the roof surface — we neither wanted nor used the well-nuts. We mounted the supplied brackets atop our existing Z-brackets on our roof to provide an additional 1.5 inches clearance above our roof surface. All to gain and no disadvantage for us.

These tilt mount kits are expensive and we could have saved a bunch by fabricating them ourselves. However, all the included hardware is first-rate and Carmanah Go Power did the engineering and assembling of the kit so we didn’t have to mess with it. Sometimes it’s nice to take the easy, if a little expensive, way to get a project done right the first time.

The result is we now have both our panels tiltable with nicely made aluminum arms and brackets and securely mounted with all stainless hardware. Looks good, works fine. And we’ve greatly increased our solar panels morning and evening gain by tilting the panels to only 25 degrees. Big difference.

Customer Reviews: Gilsson High Performance GPS Antenna (MCX 90 degree connector)for Garmin Nuvi 660, 350, 360, 300, iQue 3200 3600 M5 GPS 60 60C 60CS 76 76CS Quest, Quest 2, StreetPilot i3 i5 2610 2620 2720 2730 c320 c330 (compare to GA27C) 9ft Cable

I had trouble with my 2610 getting good reception on the dash of my H2 Hummer due to the angle of the windshield. It seemed that every time I had to make a crucial turn, I got the “lost satellite” message, especially where there were overhanging trees. The Garmin antenna is $99 and I wasn’t sure if it do that much but for $20, I figured “What the heck”.

Well … It’s like having a different animal. Country roads with lots of trees and in the city with tall buildings my 2610 never misses a beat and the sensitivity is +- 8 feet.

I mounted it on the roof and the magnet base keeps it put even through the car wash. I ran the thin wire along the door frame and under the weather-stripping into the cabin. You can’t even see it. I’m very happy with my purchase and highly recommend it to anyone that has the lost signal problem.

This review is from: Audi Music Interface (AMI) iPod Integration Cable For 2007-2009 Audi A5 Coupe, A6 Avant, A6 Sedan, A8 L, A8, Q7, S5 Coupe, S6 Sedan, S8 Seda (Electronics) Item works as advertised and was a lot cheaper than the dealer price. Only down side is that the cord is very short. I recommend you also buy a ten pin cable extension so you don’t have to lean over to the glove box to plug the phone in

Customer Reviews: Standard Horizon CP390i 7″ Internal GPS Chartplotter w/Built-In C-MAP Cartography

Bought this unit new for a planned extended boat trip up the coast from VA to LI SOund. After three software upgrades (all installed because the unit was freezing up) made the unit completely inoperable, I was told by Standard Horizon customer service to return it to CA AT MY EXPENSE and they would ship a replacement unit to me. Upgraded software chips had been mailed to me all along my route from VA and each one lead to only more issues with the unit. Very disappointing!!!

This review is from: Avantalk® Joytune Bluetooth Car Kit/ Kits with Fm Transmitter, USB Charger, iPhone 4S/ 4, 3Gs & 3G, iPod Touch 4G, BlackBerry, HTC HD 2, 7, EVO, DROID, Samsung Epic, Galaxy S II / S and All Bluetooth Stereo A2DP supported Devices (Electronics) This unit is an excellent design but it has two flaws that I dont like.

1. The frequencies are picked automatically by the device which means only 4 fixed ones. And the ones it picks are usually really close to other radio stations giving bad interference.

2. The battery I think loses some of it power while transmitting to the car radio, and after about an hour of play time the radio station starts fading and picking up a lot of white noise. I also didnt like that to use the radio feature you had to hold in on the side button to swap between phone calls being made and playing music. Seriously, I am okay with two big buttons being on the unit, one for phone calls and one for music play and pause. The audio read out of the radio station used was annoying and a digital read out of the number would have been better.

Over all the unit is a good idea. It just needs to not be so “simple” on the buttons, which makes it more complex because I have to remember what holding a button in for 1 sec, 2 sec, 4 sec, 6 sec ect does.

For the price it needs some work.

Customer Reviews: PAC OS1 OnStar Interface For Select GM Vehicles Without Bose Systems

This review is from: PAC OS1 OnStar Interface For Select GM Vehicles Without Bose Systems (Automotive) I had replaced the stock radio in my 2001 Suburban and had mixed results with it. At times, the built in stock amplifier would not start and there would be no sound. At other times, it would start without any problems. I finally read where the PAC OS1 OnStar Interface would fix this problem and it has. It has been well worth the money to have the radio working every time I start the vehicle for the last 40+ days.

Customer Reviews: Raptor GDB1 1-4 Gauge/4-8 Guage Distribution Block (Gold)

This review is from: Raptor GDB1 1-4 Gauge/4-8 Guage Distribution Block (Gold) (Electronics) I bought a few of this type of Block to use in my ’57 Chevy pickup. Though it did state in the description the wire sizes it was designed for, I saw no reason it wouldn’t work with smaller wire on the distribution/outflow side. I was wrong. Not a major issue, but if you understanding wiring, connections must be tight, particularly in my case as this is still a working 1 ton(3800) wood hauler. I carry heavy loads on bumpy/rocky back roads. So I was disappointed to find the set screws were so short they would run out of threads on the block as they were tightened on 10 or 12 gauge wire. 2 mm longer set screws would solve the problem, but I live 1 1/2 hours from the hardware store. Basically I like the plastic cover and overall design as it appears durable and well protected and mounts easily under the hood.
