Customer Reviews: 2009 09 Dodge Journey Remote & Key Combo – 3 Button

This review is from: 2009 09 Dodge Journey Remote & Key Combo – 3 Button Very unhappy, I ordered product from site rather than another site because it was supposedly in stock. The product is still shown on site as in stock but I was notified shortly after processing payment it was on back order It has been on back order now for over two weeks. This is false and misleading advertising.

Customer Reviews: Scosche Goose Neck FM Transmitter with Digital Display for iPod, iPhone, Zune MP3 Players

I have tried and returned more than a few fm transmitters. Before buying this model I was fairly satisfied with the discontinued “Universal” Belkin tunecaster, which fit into the earphone jack of any mp3 player. However, due to not so smart design (constant cord stress above the connector plug) the wire frayed and I had to replace it.

I subsequently bought the ‘updated’ model (exclusively for ipods) which now plugs into the base, thereby charging the player at the same time. First off, it was quite arduous finding a suitable frequency for this unit, and even when I did, it never held onto it for very long. During the 30%-35% of the time it worked properly, the sound was acceptable… but the rest of the time was interference, hissing, bleed-in from neighboring frequencies and, consequently, looking for free wavelengths and readjusting the transmitter.

What’s more, the controller goes all over the place- and even though there’s a mounting attachment, the “ideal” spot seems to vary constantly, and so is of limited use. This was in 3 three different vehicles, by the way.

After further research, I took a leap of faith as a result of good reviews from a handful of consumers on a “Radio shack/The Source” web-site (I found no other reviews on the web!).

It cost half as much as many other models (including the Belkin), but man, how nice is it when a device delivers on what it’s supposed to do?

It completely took control over (and held) the very first frequency I tried and, save for between tracks, there was virtually NO background noise or static. The only ‘quirk’ I found was a boosting of bass which caused some distortion in the speakers. This was immediately remedied by lowering the ipod volume (which was on high), and compensating with the volume in the car.

Very happy with this purchase.

Customer Reviews: 2010 10 Toyota Corolla Remote & Key Combo

This review is from: 2010 10 Toyota Corolla Remote & Key Combo The instructions it contained worked like a charm. I was just a locksmith from having the the key cut to match my Master key and then the transponder programming away from using it to drive away. Great stuff and much cheaper than the dealer. Thanks!

Customer Reviews: PIE LD-1 Adjustable Pre-Amp Line Driver w/ Subsonic Filter

This review is from: PIE LD-1 Adjustable Pre-Amp Line Driver w/ Subsonic Filter (Electronics) I purchased this product to increase the input gain for my Sirius satellite radio through the AUX input jack of my truck’s radio so I could switch from Radio to CD to AUX and have the relative same volume level (without the LD-1 I had to double the volume level of the AUX). I attempted 3 times to get some installation adjustment info from the manufacturer, Precision Interface Electronics (PIE) , with no success. I instead had to use info from Pacific Accessory Corp’s Model LD-10 HiFi Preamp (www.pac-audio.com) which is a similar product. I even tried to submit a tech question on PIE’s Forum but, for some strange reason, was prevented from doing so. The product works but the company isn’t user friendly which is the reason I only gave it 3 stars.

This review is from: 2005 05 Infiniti G35 Keyless Entry Remote – 4 Button I recieved the remote promptly and after a couple of attempts managed to program it to my car. I am extremely pleased as this same remote was going to cost me over $200 at my local dealer. Great value!! I love it!

Customer Reviews: Install Essentials 516U Universal Voice Module

This review is from: Install Essentials 516U Universal Voice Module (Electronics) I have a Jeep Wrangler that I regularly remove the top and doors from in nice weather. The Install Essentials 516U Universal Voice Module coupled with the Install Essentials 508D Radar Field Disturbance Sensor provide the perfect protection package for my “open” Wrangler. The voice warning when someone gets too close or tries to reach into the vehicle is more then enough to dissuade further intrusions.

Customer Reviews: Phoenix Gold LPL44 Amp Bass Remote

This review is from: Phoenix Gold LPL44 Amp Bass Remote (Electronics) Works as it says it does for my x600.1 amplifier and allows for the 20dB attenuation. Easy enough to install (minus the troubles of car wire routing), and even able to make this as a DIY project (which I honestly recommend). But either way, it’s clean, easy, and effective!

Customer Reviews: JBL GT5-12D 12-Inch Dual-Voice-Coil Subwoofer

This review is from: JBL GT5-12D 12-Inch Dual-Voice-Coil Subwoofer (Electronics) I had a pair of Kenwood 112s for my car just because that is what I started out with. No hate please. Anyways I wanted a slight upgrade and bought two of these for the slight upgrade. I was impressed to be honest. Listen you get what you pay for so don’t go expecting the greatest ever. But I don’t wanna bash. It hits lows a lot better than my Kenwoods and is more crisp and rich to me. I have them wired to 8ohms each but combined to be 4ohms. You can wire them to 2ohms each but I wasn’t going to get an amp that was stable at 1ohm. Anyways, I would recommend them to anyone who enjoys bass but doesn’t want to go spend a lot of money. They look great too!

Customer Reviews: VIGO Digital Wireless Automobile FM Transmitter – White

This review is from: VIGO Digital Wireless Automobile FM Transmitter – White (Electronics) I bought this so that I could listen to podcasts on my phone during my commute. I tried every station, but the transmitter just won’t transmit. All I get is white noise. What a waste of money.

This review is from: Stereo Wire Harness Jeep Cherokee 97 98 99 00 01 (car radio wiring installation parts) (Electronics) You need to do a little bit of wiring in order to hook this up as one end is bare wires – but assuming that you are comfortable with that it’s an easy install, and fitted first time for me

Customer Reviews: Delphi SA10226 SKYFi3 Car Kit

This review is from: Delphi SA10226 SKYFi3 Car Kit (Electronics) It freezes up often for no reason, and yes I did update the software. Fortunately resetting is simple, press and hold the power button and up volume button at the same time. This is really the only complaint I have.

Customer Reviews: MTX Elite TXC6.1 6 1/2″ 2-Way Component System

I have these speakers installed in the factory front door and dashboard locations in a 2002 Grand Cherokee, using adapters I purchased separately (factory front door speakers are 6×9″ ovals, these are 6.5″ and round) and the crossovers mounted under the rear seat. I am using the factory radio but have replaced the poor quality factory amplifier with a better aftermarket amp in the factory location. There is no subwoofer, and my amplifier has a subsonic filter set to ~40hz.

With a little trial and error on the crossover settings and using the “Audio Tool” app on my Android phone, it wasn’t hard to get an extremely balanced sound and the detail is freakish! There’s no good way to describe sound with text, all I can say is these are definitely a proper high-end product and I’m very glad I spent a few extra bucks to step up, every time I hop in the car. Bass from 40hz up is natural, authoritative and clean (I’m not into ‘boom’) and these give me all I need without a sub. I keep the tone controls at “0″ and switch from acoustic music to hip hop to talk without wanting to touch any controls. Awesome!

They don’t seem to have any difficulty with being driven with a clean 100(rms) watt per channel amplifier, to levels way louder than I care to listen.

So..
Pros: Holy cow they sound good! Look and feel fantastic too, but they’re hidden in factory locations so I can’t see them. Shallow woofer depth, for how beefy it is.

Cons: Crossovers are pretty huge. They’re cast aluminum and feel like a million bucks when you take ‘em out of the package, but they’re also difficult to stash anywhere in the car because of how huge they are. No other cons.. fantastic product.

Customer Reviews: Raptor S16-100 100-Feet 16 Gauge Speaker Cable

This review is from: Raptor S16-100 100-Feet 16 Gauge Speaker Cable (Electronics) For Satellite speakers these are way too thick to be moving them around in your living room. If you’re concealing these behind a wall or through a suspended ceiling then I’m sure they’re ok, but you really could go with a thinner wire and get similar audio result. I ended up not even using these.

Customer Reviews: i-tec Electronics Bluetooth Hands-Free Car Kit

This review is from: i-tec Electronics Bluetooth Hands-Free Car Kit (Wireless Phone Accessory) This works well and hooks up to both my phones ok. The only complaint I have is that people can’t hear you too clearly so you end up holding it to your face – just like a regular phone so its kind of pointless to be honest. If you could mount it on a sun visor it might work better. mine is on the dash and the mic isn’t sensitive enough.

otherwise all good – battery lasts a long time.

Customer Reviews: TomTom XL 335 4.3-Inch Portable GPS Navigator

This review is from: TomTom XL 335 4.3-Inch Portable GPS Navigator (Electronics) Recently decided to test the Tom Tom on a route I knew. Good thing I knew the route because at one point it was going to route me 180 degrees from where I needed to go. This was the first time this happened. Not sure what I would do if I was routed to an unfamiliar place and ended up going the wrong way because of the Tom Tom.

Customer Reviews: Boss Audio Systems CE2404 2400 Watts 4-Channel MOSFET Power Amplifier

This review is from: Boss Audio Systems CE2404 2400 Watts 4-Channel MOSFET Power Amplifier (Electronics) This is a GREAT amp for the price. Granted it only pushes 600 w per channel, but it drives my 10s no problem. Only one problem… This thing is monstrous. It’s as long as my arm. The only place I had room to put it (in my SUV) is on the back of my sub box.

Customer Reviews: Peripheral / PAC IS710 5 Volt Charging Adapter for iPod/iPhone

This review is from: Peripheral / PAC IS710 5 Volt Charging Adapter for iPod/iPhone (Electronics) I have a 2008 Infiniti G35 with the iPod connection. I’ve been frustrated that it would play but not charge my iPhone. I contacted Infiniti to no avail for a solution.

I was a little nervous to buy the iSimple line. I am VERY pleased with it. It charges the phone and provides 4 feet of length (the Infiniti iPod cord is about 8″) so now I have enough length that my son can plug in his iphone from the back seat if he wants to. I also saw reviews saying the cord pulls out too easily from the phone. I have not experienced it. It does have small spring hooks on the side so it seems to lock in adequately, it just doesn’t have a rigid lock you have to press a button to release.

The iPhone does warn of possible interference when I plug it in to this cord, but I have not heard any actual interference when I use the line. I’m just glad that now I can get rid of my separate car phone charger and have just the one cable in the car. I would recommend this to anyone with a car iPod connection that doesn’t currently charge the newer generation iPhones.

Customer Reviews: Infinity Kappa Perfect 5.1 5-1/4″ Component Speaker System

This review is from: Infinity Kappa Perfect 5.1 5-1/4″ Component Speaker System (Electronics) I had a good transaction for purchase of this product, and the infinity kappa perfect speakers are awesome. Outstanding clarity; definitely a couple levels above my old alpine type R speakers. The infinity kappas are very bright, so I set the crossover jumper to -4db (tweeter has 3 volume settings). I also covered them slightly from the side to quiet them further and to stop lateral reflections in the car cabin. A little quarter sized cover over the woofers (dynaudio style) softened the ear sensative 2khz range, and now they sing beautifully and evenly. I couldn’t be happier.

Customer Reviews: Complete Sirius Radio System for Satellite Ready Lexus PLUS Aux Input (iPod etc) WORKS WITH MORE LEXUS MODELS – Also Includes MOBILE MEDIA MOUNT

This review is from: Complete Sirius Radio System for Satellite Ready Lexus PLUS Aux Input (iPod etc) WORKS WITH MORE LEXUS MODELS – Also Includes MOBILE MEDIA MOUNT (Electronics) This device worked like a charm. Interfaces with factory radio and display and thus acts like a factory install.
Installation required my local dealer to make a change to the internal computer so the device was recognized………..this was not noted in the instructions! It really does require dealer interaction but once this is done, it works very well.

Customer Reviews: Monster MP3 MusicConnnect Portable Audio Player to Car Stereo 2 m. Cable (1/8 stereo mini plug to RCAs) (MPC MCON-2M)

This is a fantastic cable that allows you to plug your MP3 player into your home stereo. You just plug in the headphone jack to your MP3 player, and then plug the other end into available RCA jacks on your home stereo. I have been using these for over a year to play my MP3′s on my home stereo. If your sound output is not quite up to par, you might need to adjust the volume on the MP3 player to a high level and then reduce the volume on the stereo to eliminate distortion. There are also different lengths available, and I also have the 10 ft set, which provides a longer length so I can sit on the sofa and scroll through songs. These would work just as well for a portable CD player too if you don’t have a home CD player on your stereo.

This review is from: Clarion APX290M 2/1 Channel 360 Watts Maximum Amplifier (Electronics) This amp is awesome. Easy to use, basic setup and terminals. Powers my two 7″marine speakers to the max. Gets very hot when its working, but show me one that doesn’t. Good quality for the price.

Customer Reviews: National Geographic TOPO! Utah Map CD-ROM (Windows)

I live in Idaho, and actually, really, go into the wilderness. The level of detail provided by garmin’s u.s. topo offering is honestly not sufficient for accurately setting waypoints. National Geographic’s state series is indeed sufficient (in fact it’s the best for Idaho). Not to be cruel, but being able to download inadequately detailed map source is not nearly as important as being able to download truly accurate waypoints. Buying both packages would obviously be the best solution, but really you can set up all the detail you need (for getting in & out) using just national geographic (whereas you can’t with garmin’s u.s. topo stuff). Critical note: I strongly recommend not carrying *just* electronic maps if you really, truly, go into wilderness. Electronic toys aren’t foolproof – they break through no fault of your own, they get dropped, can get destroyed if you fall, etc. Paper maps should *also* be carried – ideally ones printed out just for your current trip. The garmin hardware itself is truly impressive. Their mapsource topo offerings, on the other hand, need a lot of work. It’s as if the people who did them never visited the U.S., and/or never really went into many of the U.S.’s real wilderness areas.

Customer Reviews: Lanzar VCT2410 4000 Watt 2 Channel High Power MOSFET Amplifier

I have this amp mounted in an enclosure with two electric fans built in, one on top and one underneath. I already had the enclosure built for my last amp and simply swaped it out. The amp doesn’t over heat and i wouldn’t expect it to set up like this. Most amps get hot regardless of the NAME printed on it. I think this is an awesome deal.
I don’t care if your in a nova or a lexus, the amp is twice what i expected.

Customer Reviews: For Apple iphone 3G 3Gs Car Cup Holder Mount MCUP

This review is from: For Apple iphone 3G 3Gs Car Cup Holder Mount MCUP (Wireless Phone Accessory) I was very pleasantly surprised at how well this unit is made and how cleverly it is designed. If your vehicle’s cup holder is in a location where the phone will be visible and accessible on this mount (which is about 8 inches tall,) it’s great. In my car, the placement couldn’t be better.

The base adjusts easily to fit as snugly as you want into the cup holder and the phone holder rotates easily, but not spontaneously when you hit a pothole, which is perfect for the iPhone (and our lousy NJ roads!.)

It comes with 2 sets of clips for holding different devices. The width of each of the clip sets can be adjusted so it should fit quite a variety of gadgets. I’ve only used it with the iPhone and it holds it securely yet it’s still easy to insert and remove the phone. The clips are plastic but seem sturdy enough to hold up to regular use. I’ll be surprised if I’m not using this holder for a long time.

Customer Reviews: Boss Audio NX10FD ONYX Subwoofer

This review is from: Boss Audio NX10FD ONYX Subwoofer (Electronics) So I bought these Subwoofers back in December. At the time they hadn’t been out for too long and I found them cheaper other places online however nobody had them in stock despite they’re lower advertised price. I got sick of looking elsewhere and finally purchased from Amazon since they did show 4 left in stock. I looked all over the place for reviews and couldn’t find anything. I saw the Boss Diablos and was originally interested in those since they had pretty good reviews and they were cheap. However these had much better specs and they were dual voice coil which makes for better wiring when hooking up to my mono amp. I did look up other more expensive shallow mount subs since mine were going under my backseat in a chevy colorado. However I guess I wasn’t willing to spend so much for these kind of subwoofers since I’ve never owned subs like this and didn’t know what to expect. I have a great amp and I have a perfectly good set of subwoofers already which sound great in my truck. However they are 12′s and the box takes up most of my backseat. I found a small box for these 10′s which fits under my seat with minor modification. So getting down to business…… These speakers sound OK. For Certain songs these subs sound great, you feel slight vibration in your seat and the bass is really full in the music. But for other songs, the bass sounds only slightly better than 6×9′s I have an equalizer and turn up the bass to try to balance things out but they just don’t cut it for what I’m used to. This isn’t a problem with my other subs. I know it’s not my amp because when I hook my 12′s or even a Kicker L7 the bass kicks butt no matter what song. So these subs do lack the nose and ear tickling bass which I can honestly say I wasn’t expecting but hoped very much for. But all in all they’re not bad for the money. I am not one who wants to be heard coming down the street. I just like my music to sound good to me as I’m driving. The quality of the bass is good for the most part. It sounds great with funk, rock, reggae, spanish rock, but I think if you listen to hip hop alot like my brother, then you wouldn’t like em’ so much as he didn’t. But I listen to every other genre of music most of the time and these subs are a good compromise for me since I bought a 4 door truck for the backseat and to carry passengers when I want, not for a big subwoofer box taking up the whole backseat. Good buy for the money, much better than having no bass, and these subs are very well built, they are very well packed and have a heavy solid feel which I wasn’t expecting. Also these are very shallow so they work in almost any box. I would buy again for the application I am using them for. If you have extra space or a trunk then skip shallow mount subs all together and find yourself a good kicker L7, one is enough for anybody not interested in competition.

Customer Reviews: DICE Electronics DUO-100-AUD Dice Audi Silverline DUO: ISO Radio Connector

This review is from: DICE Electronics DUO-100-AUD Dice Audi Silverline DUO: ISO Radio Connector (Electronics) I got this adapter for my son’s 2003 Audi TT so he could play his Ipod through the radio. Did a little research to find out how hard it was to install and decided to do it myself even though the instructions call for a qualified dealer. If you decide to do it yourself make sure you to online research and are comfortable with electronics. wiring and taking apart car dashboard. A video that helped me was: [...] The hardest part was taking the radio out of the dashboard, I bought one of the recommended tools which made it easier, but is still required some adjusting of the tool to get it to capture the latch. In an Audi TT running the wiring behind the radio was pretty straight forward, locating a place for the box was not, in the end I let it sit in the the cavity below the radio in the dash. The reason being that it was very difficult to run the big wire connectors through the small spaces. This will mean every time we update the box with new software I will have to pop the radio, not ideal but the only solution I could see.

After installation poped all of the bits back in, and turned on the radio and box and it worked. The sound is great and the navigation through the songs on the Ipod was straight forward, just wished the Audi radio supported titles.

All in all, this device works great and provides exactly as described. Wish there was a bit more documentation provided on installation, most of what I got on the internet was through reseller sites.

Customer Reviews: ezGear ezCassette Car Cassette Adapter for iPod (White)

This review is from: ezGear ezCassette Car Cassette Adapter for iPod (White) (Electronics) The old cassette adapter I used to use in my car worked pretty well but recently broke. So I looked here for an inexpensive one, not really concerned about quality. When I put this in my car I wasn’t expecting much but I was pleasantly surprised by how good it sounded. It sounded way better than the one I used to own which was at least 5x the price. If you are looking for a good quality cassette adapter for the price, this is a good choice!

Customer Reviews: Garmin GPS Nuvi 265wt Accessory Bundle – Car Charger + Home Travel AC Charger + USB Data Cable + Free Stars Stripes Silicone Wristband

This review is from: Garmin GPS Nuvi 265wt Accessory Bundle – Car Charger + Home Travel AC Charger + USB Data Cable + Free Stars Stripes Silicone Wristband I bought this bundle for the AC charger, which I knew would not be included with the GPS. That, and because the description of the Nuvi 265WT (which I bought in the same order) seemed vague about whether a USB cable was included. Turns out the Nuvi does come with a USB cable (and a car charger). So if you’re considering buying this because you think you’ll need a USB cable, don’t bother. I suppose if the 12V in-car charger that came with the unit dies or gets lost someday, the car charger will become useful. That’s assuming I store it where I can find it. The 12V charger that came with the unit seems far more rugged than this one, by the way.

Bottom line: The one part I’ve tried, the AC adapter, works just dandy. It may even do double duty charging up an MP3 player, since the Nuvi end of it is just a garden-variety “mini-D” USB plug). But they don’t advertise it for that function, so try it at your own risk!

This review is from: US to UK Adapter for Apple Macbook, iBook, ipod, ipad, Airport, iphone wall charger plug adapter for United Kingdom 220V AC Electric outlet adapter with two-pins (Electronics) At the price I did not expect any miracles but I was still disappointed with the plugs.
They have no fuse holder, are made of low quality plastic with sharp edges. They don’t fit well in the charger and are much thicker than the equivalent Apple plug.
I wish there were some better quality plugs even at a higher price.

So here is a review which I wish was available for me when I went on looking at different iphone car kit-s.

Here are the following thing I was looking for

1. iphone car mount that can take iphone with/without case.
2. iphone car charger (obviously)
3. possibility of playing music directly over cable connected to the dock. (and not another cable running from iphone!)
4. Good quality Bluetooth handsfree phone calls.

I was looking for somthing that combines all the above in one unit so that I just slip in the iphone and everything is all set.

Now here are the contenders that I finally boiled down to.

1. Tomtom iphone car kit
2. Magellan iphone car kit
3. Parrot car kit (includes one with iphone connector)
cheap FM transmitters were out as their quality sucked!!!! If you like quality you will not like these FM transmitter solutions.

Tomtom was out as it doesnt work with case on it!!. I tried other features but it was sort of useless as I had to take out and put back the case on my iphone everytime!!!

Parrot has a very nice solution but involves detailed car fitting. It bypasses the car stereo so that it can direct its own audio out to the car speakers. Used for bluetooth phone conversations. Installation is a pain and expensive so this one was out too.

I tried Magellan iphone car kit for a few weeks.
What i liked on this
1. ability to dock iphone with case.
2. reasonably good audio quality on both ends of phone conversation with bluetooth handsfree feature.
3. has a line out that can be connected to car stereo.
4. Improved GPS reception (accuracy improved from 150 ft to 33 ft tested using GPSLite app)
5. Automatically connects to iphone when I start the car.
6. Nice landskape portrait option to turn the iphone.

what I didnt like
1. a little bulky. Didnt need to be that bulky when tomtom and kinsington could make such a compact unit.
2. When iphone plays songs, it goes to its own speakers AND lineout to car stereo.
this is very annoying as when you lower the volume on car stereo, you can still hear songs playing loud on
the cheap speakers. If you turn those speakers volume down then when you get a call, bluetooth uses this
speaker so you cannt hear anything
3. Bluetooth uses the internal speakers for handsfree even when dock is connected using lineout!
4. At times, iphone would disconnect and re-connect for no reason. This would also pause any music playback!!!!!!!!@#$!
This seems to be a bug. Sometime its there and sometimes its not.
5. For iphone Voice control, I had to push a button on the back of the dock, which was ok but not very convinient
while i was driving.

When I tried Kinsington Assistone all my critical requirements were met.

Pro
1. This unit uses bluetooth to route voice calls AND all music content as well!!
It does not use line out to connect the audio.
so i dont have to dock the unit if I have to take calls or play music!!! quality is just as good as lineout.
audio does not play on its own cheap speakers when line out is connected.

2. It does support iphone with case and all different varieties of iphone 3GS/4 and is very compact.
The usb charger tht goes to the car cigratte adapter is very compact as well.
It also snaps on landskape and portrait mode when iphone is turned which is nice.

3. When making or receiving phone calls, all audio is directed to lineout port on the dock which then goes to my car stereo.
So I hear other person on my car stereo speakers! with nice loud and clear sound. No echo’s and quality is great on
both sides!
iphone bluetooth—–> assistone dock lineout —-> car stereo.
iphone bluetooth <—- assistone noise cancelling mic

4. for voice dial, the button is right in the front of the dock,
best part is it has internal voice engine.. so if you speak ‘launch voice control’,
it goes to the apple voice control prompt!!!!!!! this is a huge plus. It works quite well.
After that apple menu takes over

I will usually use it like this.. launch voice control (gap of 2 sec ) play songs by metallica or call xxxx!!!!
hands on wheel all the time!

Cons
1. No internal GPS. However, I dont seem to be missing this as iphone’s internal GPS is good enough.
2. When car starts, I have to press a button and only then it connects to the iphone.
I would have loved if it connected automatically.
3. When it initially connects, it makes some unnecessary beeps and click/pop sounds.
I should have made just one beep. Annoying but I can live with it.

I then returned my magellan and tomtom car kit as they were of no use when I bought this one.

hope you find this review usefull in your research!

Easy to follow instructions made it simple to set up and the remote was delivered fasted than expected. Product and service as promised.

Customer Reviews: DURAGADGET 3 In 1 Car Mount / Holder / Cradle For Motorola Droid Bionic – Vent Mount, Windscreen Suction Mount, Dash Disc & Car Charger – Life Time Warranty

This review is from: DURAGADGET 3 In 1 Car Mount / Holder / Cradle For Motorola Droid Bionic – Vent Mount, Windscreen Suction Mount, Dash Disc & Car Charger – Life Time Warranty (Wireless Phone Accessory) For those of you who are trying to decide whether to get a car mouth / holder, I highly recommend it. The value for GPS navigation is really tremendous. You may also get some hands-free phone usage out of it but we primarily use it to emulate a standalone GPS for the car.

I have mixed feelings about this dock but ultimately can’t rate it better than “just ok” because it looks so cheesy, not being designed to hold the Bionic very naturally even though it’s advertised for that.

Pros:
-Suction cup holds to windshield very well
-It is pretty easy to get the angle just how you want it and lock it into place
-Being able to put it in “landscape or portrait” is nice I guess
-Can be used with different phones which is great if, for instance, you and a spouse have different phones and want to be able to put both phones up
-Inexpensive

Cons:
-Doesn’t feel like it really fits the phone very well
-When I put my Droid Bionic in this thing it wants to hold the phone by its volume buttons, which of course turns the volume all the way up or down and continues to hold the button down. I have to position the arms way off center to prevent this which makes it look tacky.

Customer Reviews: USB Data Cable + USB Car + USB Home Travel Charger for Sandisk Sansa View

This review is from: USB Data Cable + USB Car + USB Home Travel Charger for Sandisk Sansa View (Electronics) I purchased this item with great hope based on the reviews submitted. However, when I received I noticed the items were not the same as those pictured. Also the moment I plugged the wall charger in the wall and tried to remove it, one AC prong stayed stuck in the outlet. It just pulled right out of the wall charger. So I gave the USB cable a chance but that did not work out great either. When I plugged it into my computer, it did charge the Sansa and it seemed to work. But while transferring files to the Sansa it crashed. This never happened with the original cord. All in all the quality is very cheap, as is evident in the price.

If it helps anyone the items I purchased claimed to be produced by BargainCell but they shipped from iShoppingDeals. I mention this because while writing this review I noticed the same item link now states it ships from a different seller. So perhaps that could make all the difference. Considering the price I may not return the kit but its still money lost so I hope this review helps others.

Customer Reviews: Sound Quest 4 to 8 Gauge Power or Ground Pro Style Wire Reducer

This review is from: Sound Quest 4 to 8 Gauge Power or Ground Pro Style Wire Reducer (Electronics) This converter allowed me to use the 4GA wiring that the previous owner left in my Honda Accord. This makes a clean connection from the huge wiring into my amplifier which only allows for an 8GA wire.

Works well, except that I had to tape off the metal area surrounding the screw you see in the picture, so that it would not arc onto my truck and amplifier.

Customer Reviews: Cellet Power Converter Female Adaptor 12V (1000 mAh)

This review is from: Cellet Power Converter Female Adaptor 12V (1000 mAh) (Wireless Phone Accessory) This is a very nice little product. It is not heavy and can be easily packed for travel. It has a universal input, meaning it will work from 100v-240v and 50 Hz or 60 Hz. The 1 Amp output current appears to be a conservative rating.

Customer Reviews: Magellan RoadMate 760 3.8-Inch Portable GPS Navigator

This review is from: Magellan RoadMate 760 3.8-Inch Portable GPS Navigator (Electronics) I had a Roadmate 700 for 18 months, and it became an indispensible tool for my vehicle – especially when traveling to multiple locations I’ve never been to in a new city. On the downside, after 11 months I started getting automatic messages that my software was out of date – but Magellan hadn’t released the new software. Four months later when they did, they failed to notify me even though I had registered for it.

Now I have the Roadmate 760, and the unit is even better. The flash card for saving addresses (use it, you’ll be glad you did), the automatic re-routing for when you’re stuck in traffic, and the automatic backlight adjustment are all handy. But after only two weeks, the new unit started freezing on startup. At three weeks it got worse, and I sent it back to Magellan – and learn they need “10 to 12 business days in-house” to fix it, plus shipping time. No apology, no offer to loan me another unit, no way to speed it up. My confidence in the company and the unit has dropped precipitously, and they seem not to care that they are converting a customer evangelist into a very unhappy user.

UPDATE on the above, 3 months later:
My love/hate relationship is deeper than before. I recently was stuck in traffic on I-95 when terrorist threats shut down all tunnels around Baltimore. I checked the gps for nearest exit, worked my way to it, then re-programmed the unit for “least use of freeways”. It then guided me through areas of Baltimore that by-passed all tunnels, and I made a critical meeting in Delaware on time. My wife also uses it, and she clearly is more comfortable knowing she will not get lost. This is worth a lot to both of us.

On the other hand, the unit is freezing for the second time, and is now on its way back for repairs again. This means another two weeks of waiting for a 4 month old unit to be repaired a second time.

ARRGGHHH!

Customer Reviews: Mr. Handsfree Family Charger

I purchased this “docking station” to clean up the clutter of cell phone charging cords (phone itself, blue tooth attachment, etc.) on a counter top. The station is small, compact and easy to use, but there is not quite enough room in the storage area of the station for three cords to be stored out of sight. Two cords, fine, three, need slightly more room. The on/off toggle switch on the side works fine, but the light showing the devise is on/off should be on the front of the station and in easy view rather than along side by the toggle switch. For the price, it fills the bill, but the manufacturer needs a couple more inches of room for wire storage, or ask the phone people to make shorter cords.

Customer Reviews: Lanzar OPTITW Optidrive 1-Inch Titanium Dome Tweeter with Aluminum Housings

This review is from: Lanzar OPTITW Optidrive 1-Inch Titanium Dome Tweeter with Aluminum Housings (Electronics) This is a solid pair of tweeters, clear sounding with a strong output…you may have to adjust your mid/treble settings to new lower levels because they have such a strong presence. Nice product and I’d buy another pair.

Customer Reviews: Install Bay AC301-5 Auto Carpet, Black (5-Yards)

This review is from: Install Bay AC301-5 Auto Carpet, Black (5-Yards) (Electronics) I was very pleased with how fast the carpet was shipped. It came within 2 days of my order when I had standard shipping. You get a lot of carpet for your money. The only problem with the carpet is that it’s thick and has no backing. Both sides are the same. It was difficult to cut with a razor blade, but manageable. If rubbed, the fibers will begin to ball up, so it would be best in a low traffic area of your car. I used it for a false floor with a plexiglass window to cover my amplifier and wires and it looks amazing. I also made a sub box with a plexiglass window and carpeted the inside and outside of the box and it looks great as well. I have a bunch of material left over too, which is cool. I plan to do more of these projects. Make sure to use a fresh new razor. You will get much better results. And if the razor begins to not cut well, swap it out for another new one.

Customer Reviews: Duracell 100W Mobile Inverter with USB Port

This is a convenient TYPE of item to own with all the electronics we cart around with us. I would not recommend this particular one. It was great for the six months that I used it until it blew out my car adapters. Coincidentally (or maybe not) the warranty is only for six months. So, there was nothing I could do. Not only that, Duracell does not actually manufacture this product. When I opened it and read the fine print, I found out that it was some other little known company called Xantrex who is using Duracell’s name with permission. I certainly wouldn’t have bought it if was branded Xantrex. It was not worth the damage it did to my vehicle.
